Cotton Wool Sunset, Berowra, NSW
Know your game. Advice for aspiring photographers everywhere. Why do I say that? It actually sounds a little arrogant… and hmmm.. not intended to be. But in this case it meant looking at the sky and planning exactly where to shoot from. The reason? I am almost looking >due south< here at sunset. I had seen that there was the gap to the west, where the sun would shine through. High, high above were some very interesting looking fluffy clouds. I should know their name but I don’t. This day I didn’t even arrive in time for sunset – it was a work from home day and I was busy. I will admit I cursed a little as I saw the sun set while still walking to the ridge but didn’t give up.
And WOW – the most amazing two-colour effect – pink and white. Never seen it before. So I let it dominate the image and found a nice shaped foreground rock to act as a nice ‘sharp’ base anchor. Contrast against the fluffiness.
