Description
I love Somersby falls, but love is a two way street. This is quite an old photo but a real favourite of mine. It is taken at one of the lower falls levels and makes an unusual angle compared to what could be called standard photos of this spot. It has a lovely depth to it, I think, not always found in waterfall shots. However. I didn’t return to Somersby for a while after this photo. Let’s see why…. Hmm, I had multiple slides and falls down slippery banks while trying to find a better shot and hurt my back, and turned a black camera bag brown with the wet dirt. I fell over several times on slippery rocks. I moved a log to get a better composition and got bitten by a nasty, and I mean a real nasty which stung for days. Not sure if a spider or otherwise. And had a leech count of three when I got back to the car. All small, but all thirsty. Having said all that, yes it was worth it. I love this image. I just don’t like leeches, that’s all.
