Sunset for the Trees, Berowra, NSW
As in ‘Cant see the’ Sunset for the Trees …
There are many, many places to take photos from in and around Berowra. However, whilst some areas give a great view, a sunset image needs to have a little something else. Does the sun set in the gap? Is the sky colour in the right place to fill that gap (NO! – very rarely haha – you would assume the colour is where the sun sets but boy can it go off to the side and stuff your plans up) and so on.
This night I wanted to really use the colour as there was so much of it. I had tried to find the archetypal ‘good rock’ as foreground for the image but for some reason it hadn’t happened. So I ended up moving back a bit and focussing on the shape of the trees, with the hint of the valley – but letting the interested viewer still see the ‘V shape’.
I then went to a little blur to give a high-key dreamy quality as the branches were quite delicate. Perfect as a canvas for your home!
Hope you enjoy my different approach to landscape photography. It’s 2021 – time to be different!
