Sunrise Symphony, Brooklyn NSW – Movement Number One out of Five Images
Something a little different to celebrate my ‘Hawkesbury Light – And a Black and White’ exhibition at the Dangar Island Depot. I will be posting five images that show how a sunrise changes from about 45 minutes to where the sun rises over the horizon. Or actually in this case didn’t…
Omen
As a landscape photographer I get out and about a lot to take photos. I have to say, there are a lot of shoots that really do not make the cut. So you don’t get to see a lot of my endeavours. However, on this morning, through circumstance, there were three of us – myself, Good Lady Wife, and last, and least, our ‘ Sofa and Carpet Princess’ Maddie, our Maltese Shiatzu. I had plans to shoot at the McKell Park Loop Track on the Hawkesbury foreshore. For some reason, I have few images of McKell Park. As we drove toward Brooklyn the colour pink glowed oh-so-faintly on the clouds around 30 minutes before sunrise.
This is the first of the images that worked. After a drive of around 5 minutes we arrived. The Blue of the sky offset by a lovely contrast of the pink glow which slowly increased. Please note the stillness/milkiness of the water, it’s still really dark and a long shutter speed and very firm tripod are needed. The waters lap around the oyster-covered shark enclosure at McKell Park – right beside the McKell Park loop Track. Would the colour deepen? Tune in tomorrow…
