Naa Badu Sunset
My wife and I found the Naa Badu lookout as one of the first lookouts when we moved to Berowra. It’s on the Great North Walk, and is a great spot to walk to, or if you are walking past, to stop at. ‘Naa Badu’ in the local aboriginal dialect means ‘see water’ and that’s exactly what you do, from high above. There’s a chair, and a picnic table, and it’s all very well set up. Occasionally flocks of cockatoos will swoop by below, likely breaking the still of the area, and in the morning it is a favourite spot for kayakers.
From a photo viewpoint, I have struggled to get a good shot of the Naa Badu sunset. It demands multiple exposures for sky, land, and foreground rock, and a subsequent attack of Photoshop!! I have tried many times, and this is the first time the sunset has been kind, if not spectacular. I feel this almost looks more like a painting in many ways.
