Hiding – a Terrigal sunrise

The sun hides briefly behind a line of cloud. It’s the start of another beautiful day at Terrigal on the NSW Central Coast.

The Skillion at Terrigal rewards photographers in many ways. For the first-timer, there is a most rewarding hero shot with the Skillion itself. For those that return time and again, there are many images to be found slightly further around the rock platform, if there is no swell and the tide is not too high.

This is one of them, and is a ‘patience’ shot. I had not baled as soon as the sun had risen, rather I knew there would be more value in the bank of cloud just above the horizon. And there was – the Sun went into hiding and painted a different look.
