Flat Rock Sunrise, Brooklyn, NSW
I feel very at home on the Brooklyn foreshore, and visit often. It’s a favourite spot for walkers, fishermen, and all who enjoy the early morning outdoors.
This morning was really special. A deep purple glow had started almost 45 minutes before sunrise. I had actually moved from round the corner at Parsley Bay (sometimes known as Lookout Bay for some reason) as the colour was not quite lined up with the shot I had in mind. So I came upon Flat Rock and for once no fishermen around. I decided to add the beacon in for a sense of place, rather than just a rocky foreshore
And for a brief moment the sky just glowed over Dangar Island and Little Wobby. Deep intense colours. Everything just comes together – is it the luck of doing landscape photography? – or the persistence? Anyone doing landscape photography will tell tales of the one that got away. Always good to get a keeper! Such great light.
I hope you enjoy my Flat Rock Sunrise– it’s available on my online shop from forty nine. The link is in the comments.
