A Barnetts Sunset – Barnett’s Eternal Fire, Berowra Valley National Park
Well. Sometimes as a Landscape Photographer you get what you always want. I have to say that in 2018, I had a poor – almost no – ‘colour run’. Good for your washing results, bad for photography. This was an exception. We had a run in December or three of four nights where cloud and colour looked really promising, however fizzed. This was the last night, where the colour finally came to the party. Finally, a classic Barnetts Sunset here I come! And – because I had been to roughly this spot a couple of times prior, I knew exactly where to set up to get ‘the shot’ without wasting any time.
After I had taken some frames, I sat on high, as I always do, and took in the splendour below. Whilst I was contemplating how much more I enjoyed a hard rock as a seat than a sofa, a flock of cockatoos flew past. Close… really close, close enough for me to hear the beating of their wings. You don’t get that feeling while watching the TV!
This is taken from Barnetts Lookout in Berowra Valley National Park. Berowra Creek is below, and Berowra Waters Ferry and Berowra Waters Marina are to my right, out of sight.
