The Calling, North Avoca Beach, NSW

This was from a photo shoot with my old mate Carl, at North Avoca, so that was where I met him and also Mick. i don’t often shoot with friends (I’m a last-minute guy!), but always enjoy it when I do.

The clouds were plentiful, but as sundown got closer a small gap appeared for the Sun to poke through – and a blast of colour was there for a few brief minutes. A surreal element – the amount of people enjoying the last of the day. Every sport known to Man (and Woman) being played the beach variant of!

I called this shot The Calling, as it looks like the light in the distance is Calling me… With the wind, salt spray, and pounding surf nearby below me. I knew I was alive!
