The Bush Way. An image of the Milky Way from the winter’s Astro Season, in Berowra Regional Valley Park.
I have a favourite area of Berowra, down near Wideview. You keep on walking where you think the bush track might just go off the edge of a cliff. The tree in this image is a favourite – a real Sentinel overlooking the valley as it has sheer drop below it. I had visited one month previous, but this image was not possible. This is due to the fact that the Milky Way moves each month and it had been slap bang behind the trees and you could not see it. You remember I mentioned the sheer drop? I would have needed to have been right above that to have got the image on that previous month. I simply could not ‘get around’ far enough on Terra Firma to get the angle I needed.
However, as with all things, patience and a return visit is worth it.
