Cheero Point – Rise Again
It had seemed ages since I did Astro. Seeing the Milky Way rise again after a while. For those that don’t know, it’s a no-go as you pretty much can’t see the Galactic Core from November to Feb, and you have to be a night Owl in Feb and March to see it. And so to April… Ironically enough, I got wind of Cheero Point as a possible Astro shot from two gents, Matt and Tom, who don’t live anywhere near here! The outing was to road-test my new Samyang 24mm, and sadly I failed, rather than it failed. I didn’t focus correctly. This is taken with my older Samyang 14mm and is a three image horizontal stitch.
I adopted a much more step by step processing flow for this. As you will well know, I take a while, so this is the fourth attempt across around 5 weeks or so. Thoughts? – how did I want the image to look, feel, and then went layer by layer, wait, re-visit, re-attempt. I like the final look, it’s different to anything I have processed before.
I will return to Cheero Point!
