Misty Sunrise – Mist and Glory
I have a few favourite track that I walk on when the mist really rolls in as it does on a handful of mornings each year. The key to a good landscape photo is to nail different conditions, and with mist that can be a real challenge. It’s thick to the west, none on the east. This morning started off well in Berowra overlooking Berowra Valley National Park to the east. As I drove north into Berowra Heights, it got even better.
But as I started my walk, it came and went, in waves. What was wholly and totally unexpected was the orange glow of sunrise starting to appear. I quickly positioned myself to the western side of the Great North Walk track, and waited. The golden colour hinted and faded, and hinted again, and then was gone. It was oh-so subtle, but the amount of mist the sun had to shine through, it’s a wonder that any light got through. So subtle, but so wonderful.
I truly got different conditions. And I was there!
