Pearl Beach North – Last Light Pearl Beach
The light had looked good for sunset all day, with nice high clouds all around. I hadn’t been to Pearl Beach before but it looked promising. A long-ish drive up the freeway and then around the lesser roads of the Central Coast, and a few wrong turns, found me at my destination Pearl Beach North well over an hour later. I was greeted by what could best be described as ‘muddy’ skies. Ah-hem!! Not helped by a strong on-shore wind and much salt spray to get on my lens. I walked toward the north end of the beach, and as the light faded took a few shots and nearly gave up. However, I kept trying and a little pink appeared in the sky. I took a three-image stitch as almost my last shot, or rather three shots. I was happy to find such good rocks, it gives a nice sense of depth. The milky water is a thirty second exposure, so over two minutes to take one shot moving the camera on the tripod to capture all those pixels.
