Description
I love Catherine Hill Bay and the jetty, and this was one of the first shots I took there. Massive concrete blocks stand high on a cliff, at the gate to the loader, and more concrete anchor points sit embedded firmly in the ground, with anything to anchor long passed in the mists of time. The wood of the jetty goes for what looks miles out to sea, in a sweeping arc. I framed to include both the concrete and the wood of the jetty, and to really up the ante on the fortress look, I went for a mono treatment and turned some of the dials up to eleven on a ten scale. This is not something I normally do, but in this instance I felt it suited the subject matter.
