Ah, the autumn mornings often promise so much, and then the mist may be there, it may not. You may have the time to take an image, you may not. And then sometimes, as in life, if you are patient, you will be rewarded. I had seen the moon at a higher altitude than this earlier in the morning, which meant that a ‘tight’ shot would not be possible with a telephoto lens. As the moon sank further toward the horizon, the pink glow that is often present got brighter, and the moon seemed to glow with the reflected colour. This composition then seemed to fall into place before my eyes. Shortly after that the moon had slowly faded, and the light of the day had brightened and changed. I had grabbed the moment
