Backburn Sunset
I took this one Sunday after the Backburn / Hazard Reductions took place around Berowra. I had wandered to a lookout at the northern end of Berowra Heights, and arrived to see the sun melting into the horizon, glowing a bright orange red. It was lovely to see, but as with most times with the sun still in the frame, it maketh not a great image. I waited a while, and the backburn smoke was dominant in the sky. As I usually do, I waited some more. More time passed. Eventually the pink afterglow briefly showed through, just for a couple of minutes. I took this amazing shot in those minutes with the layers of ridges all but obscured by the smoke.
