Description
I had gone to Brooklyn for sunrise for the first time ever, shame on me, and had been greeted by the clearest blue dawn I had seen in a while. Not exactly what photographers dreams are made of… we are a funny bunch aren’t we?
However, I continued my walk around the foreshore, past the new boat ramp, and then came upon these beautiful new sandstone blocks. The regulations reader will know that Patience is Everything with photography, and sure enough in the few – maybe 15 – minutes between dawn and the sun being still low in the sky, some nice clouds had rolled in to add some interest to the sky.
The blocks framed the colour with the real WOW factor, and the shape framed the image to perfection.
I will return!
This image is a two image composite. One exposure so we can see the colours in the sandstone blocks. Another exposure, underexposed, to avoid the sun being a white blob in the final image. I ‘paint’ the duller image onto the area around the sun. What A Bright Start to my day it ended up being.
